Lee Steele
After studying 3D design at York, Lee ran his own pottery studio and gallery in Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire and has subsequently worked in schools, colleges and specialist care settings for over 15 years, teaching pottery and art to students of all abilities and ages.
For the last 4 years he has been working from his own studio in East Yorkshire, running workshops and classes for adults and children and designing and producing a unique range of studio ceramics #salvageware .
“SALVAGE WARE”
Step into Lee’s Industrial Landscape where the detritus of the machine is re-imagined and transformed. “Salvage Ware” is inspired by and explores the way in which the processes of erosion and corrosion change and distort texture, colour and form.
By combining clay, oxide, slip and glaze Lee designs and creates thought provoking, original, hand-built pieces where functionality has been tempered by the corrosive nature of environment and time. #salvageware
