David Bridgeman is a British-born artist based in the Caribbean who makes works in the form of painting, drawing, printmaking, 3D and installation. Now as a British Caymanian, his works have strong emotional ties to the landscape, both past and present and contain images and symbols that bridge the gap between the Caribbean and his country of birth. The artist works in a variety of media to convey these feelings, which often involve an underlying social commentary about life on a small island. His work has traveled throughout the Caribbean, Canada and France. Despite many group exhibitions over the years, his first major solo show took place in 2014 at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands.
